irtuoso Trumpet Concertos (For the Rest of Us) Play-Alon

irtuoso Trumpet Concertos (For the Rest of Us) is a collection of arrangements for trumpet and piano of five trumpet concertos and sonatas from the Baroque and early Classical eras, during the height of clarino technique on the natural trumpet (also including one piece originally for cornetto). The tessitura of each trumpet part has been transposed down by several steps and, likewise, the piano reductions have been newly arranged from the original manuscripts to accommodate the lower key. The goal of this publication is to make the works more accessible to students and professionals alike so the performer can recreate this great music while focusing on beauty of sound, elegant and stylistic articulation, and pristine intonation, without fretting about the sometimes extreme range and stamina demands of the original works, which were merely a necessity due to the technical limitations of the natural trumpet
